Evviva, abbiamo finito i “ Food Drops “ !! Abbiamo spedito oggi dalla Posta di Palmer 15 sacchi di provviste per i cani e per il musher + 8 balle di fieno + 5 sacchi extra di mangime per ciascun Team
(..hurrah we are done with our food drops !! We sent today from the Palmer Post office 15 bags of supplies for dogs and musher + 8 bails of straw + 5 bags of extra dog food for each Team ).
I sacchi dovrebbero raggiungere le loro destinazioni in ciascun villaggio posto sulla pista da Nenana a Nome verso la fine della prossima settimana.
(..the bags should reach their destinations at each village on the trail from Nenana to Nome around the end of next week ).
Molti Teams si sono ritirati dall’impresa a causa delle condizioni non ideali, ma io, Sven e l’amica Christine ( Chris ) di Nome partiremo comunque con i nostri teams ed il supporto di tre amici su motoslitte, il 16 febbraio – una volta verificate tutte le condizioni di sicurezza - come previsto dal momento che il clima sta decisamente migliorando e sta ricominciando…a fare un po’ ..piu’ freddo !!! Incredibile ma vero.
(..many teams have withdrawn from the challenge due to the not ideal conditions, but I, Sven and our friend Christine ( Chris ) from Nome and three friends with their sno machines, will start as scheduled the 16th of February – once checked all the safety conditions – even because the weather is getting better and is starting to …cool down again !!! Incredible but true).
Domani vi racconto in dettaglio cosa abbiamo mandato come provviste + altra novita’ sulle condizioni della pista di 1100 km.
