We left Manley around 11 am and went through a spectacular series of hills with continous ups and downs until a couple of gold mines. From there on the trail was real narrow, full of bumps and totally iced. After three hour we reached Fish Lake totally iced too. We had a hard time to stay in the tracks with the sled on the glare ice while the dogs worked hard their way in order not to slip.
Megh and the other dogs today were simply fantastic, because we covered the distance of 62 miles in a bit more than 6 hours, stops included of 20 min. each. Today too the record of the 1925 mail carriers Johnny Folger ( Manley-Fish Lake) and Sam Joseph ( Fish Lake-Tanana) has been beated by 1 hour !!
Now we are guests at a famous local musher Pat Moore and his Family, who offered us space in his dog lot for our dogs, a warm house for sleeping...and a fabolous hot moose meat soup !! The dogs are doing great, they all ate their meal and now 'll go cover them with the blankets donated to me by the flying crew of Delta Airlines
Tomorrow morning I will sing and play for the kids at school and then around noon we'll leave towards Boneyard Cabin on the mighty Yukon.
